![]() Nov 16, 2010.įrom the first notes of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Texas Flood,” you can hear it loud and clear that snarly tone is not just pure Stratocaster and amplifier! To get that bluesy edge, Vaughan plugged into a small green box – an Ibanez TS-808 Tube Screamer Overdrive Pro. If it's a silver label, it's hard to figure out if it's original unless the serial number starts. These usually have the JRC4558D chip, or sometimes the lousy JRC2043D chip. On the right is an original with black label, easy to tell and date, if 1st digit is a 1, that would mean 1981 (a VERY early TS9!). A Lo Pro equipped guitar with an 03' serial number except for K7's which were the only guitar produced in 03' with a Lo Pro. Replacement necks can have serial numbers years after the model 'should' be dated by spec and in all instances if the spec changed by the date shown on the neck the spec must be used to determine year of production, ie. (INSET) The inside of the battery cover bears the Maxon name. Original Ibanez TS-808 with the registered trademark symbol.
